    Easy Spring Crafts for Kids

Spring has sprung! This page features specific crafts you can only do in spring (or are the easiest to do during the spring time). Also see some easy spring crafts for kids under Easter crafts and Earth Day crafts.

    Spring Chick Craft
    by Gayle of Instantlycheaper.com

    What you’ll need:
    - Yellow and Orange Construction Paper
    - Glue
    - Crayons or Markers

Cut out an oval body from yellow construction paper. Help your child trace their hands on a piece of yellow construction paper then glue the hand print at the top of the body on the back. Cut, color and glue on an orange beak and feet. Add some blue eyes and write a "Spring Message".

    Nature Craft
    What you'll need:
Construction Paper (Brown or Blue suggested)
    Green Paint
Clear Tape (Packing tape suggested, can also laminate)
Flowers, leaves, and other flat decorations

You can start your easy spring crafts project by taking a walk in the park, out in the garden, or in the woods. Collect any plants of interest such as violets, lily of the valley, dandelions, or anything else that can be layed out flat. This is what you'll be using as the main decoration of the paper.

When you arrive home, set the flowers and decorations aside. You'll be using these for your easy spring crafts after the construction paper "base" is finished. Take the construction paper and use the green paint to make "grass". We used brown paper for ours, because with the green paint it makes it look like dirt under the grass.

Take each flower and decoration you brought home for your nature craft, and lay them out on the paper. No need to allow for the paint to dry, the flowers will stick better if it's still wet. Making live plants stick to paper isn't easy, so you'll need that wet paint!

Once all the flowers are arranged on the paper, take your clear tape and cover the entire paper. This will hold all the decorations in place, plus give it a laminated look. You could also use glue with these easy spring crafts for kids, but the flowers won't stick as well and won't be protected. With glue you'll also get the dried glue look around your flowers, so best to use clear packing tape.

    Homemade Bird Feeder
by Sherri, The Baby Online Book
    http://www.TheBabyOnlineBook.com
    What you'll need:
    - Pine Cones or Sticks
    - Peanut Butter
    - Bread crumbs, nuts, or bird food

Take pine cones or sticks and rub peanut butter all over them. Then take any bread crumbs, nuts or both and roll out the pine cone through the mix of bread and nuts and hang from a tree by a ribbon. Children love to watch the differnt color of birds flock to eat :)

    http://www.virtualfreedom4you.com

    You will need the following:
    Small flower pot
    Dirt
    Popcycle stick
    Construction paper
    Sharpie
    Glue
    Pencil

    Here is what you do:
Take your child's hand and draw it out. Then cut it out. Write Happy Mother's Day on the pot with the Sharpie. Put the dirt in the pot. Glue the hand on the popcylce stick.

Put the hand in the dirt. You have the perfect child made gift for Mother's Day, and more easy spring crafts for kids.
