    Paper Crafts for Kids

The following crafts are all about using different types of paper. You may need a few extra supplies, but mostly you'll be using paper to get started. If you have paper crafts for kids you'd like to see listed, please be sure to submit them!

    Name Picture Crafts
    What you'll need:
    Contruction Paper (several colors)
    Paint
    Letter Stencils
    Other Stencils in shapes
    Glue
    Scissors
    Glitter (optional)

Take the letter of the child's name and set aside. Let them choose 3 different colors of contruction paper to be used in this craft. Also choose which other stencils and shapes they'll be using. Use one sheet of contruction paper and the letter stencil to paint their letter. Use the other stencils in varous decorations and let them paint on the same paper, or another color. Let dry, then cut out the letter (in a box) Leave the shapes aside for the time being. Take the second sheet of contruction paper, and glue the letter on to it. Once the glue is dry, cut out the letter again. (Will look like a border).

Finally take the shapes and cut out painted letter and have the child arrange them all on a third sheet of contruction paper. Glue them all together. Use glitter or other decorations on the paper to decorate it even more. Let the children use their imagination and see what paper crafts for kids they can come up with using their name!

    Bug Bookmarks
    Cardboard
    Crayon
    Glue
    Paper (2 colors)
    Ruler
    Scissors

On the cardboard, draw a rectangle, as wide as your ruler and half as long. Draw around rim of a glass to make a circle at the top of the rectangle. Circle will be the bug. Draw smaller circle on colored paper. Cut out circle. Glue on top of large circle. Cut half circle for head. Decorate the bug. Cut out bookmark. Place in favorite book or give as gifts. You can use different colored bugs and bookmarks for extra fun and more paper crafts for kids!

    Yarn Painting
    Yarn
    Paint
    Paper

Dip the pieces of yarn or string into the paint, then drag it across the paper to paint with. Just like "real" painting, but with a slightly different twist. When they are finished they can leave the yarn on the paper to dry with the rest of the paint for a unique design.

    Peanut Pictures
    Packing peanuts
    Paper
    Glue
    Crayons or Markers

Instead of tossing out of those packing peanuts, why not make a picture with them instead? Let the kids make crazy designs on the paper with the peanuts and glue them on. Add extra decorations for a really cool looking picture.

    Fun Fans
    Cardboard
    Crayons or magic markers
    Scissors
    Transparent tape
    Typing or notebook paper

Place your barefoot or hand on piece of cardboard and trace. You can also use other things to trace or make your own designs (should be the size of a fan). Cut out shape and color both sides. Roll a sheet of paper into a tight tube to make a handle. Tape tube closed, tape one end to the fan. Now your ready to keep cool with these paper crafts for kids!

    Paper Puppets
    Small pictures (coloring optional)
    Popsicle Sticks
    Tape

There are several different options to start this paper craft for kids. You can either use pictures from old cards or magazines, or you can use cut out coloring book pictures. The idea is to have several different items to use as your puppets. Take each cut out and tape a popsicle stick to the back. The sky is the limit on this one, and the kids can use their imagination on these paper crafts for kids!

    Picture Puzzle
Magazine picture or map or favorite picture
    Glue
    Cardboard
    Scissors

Glue picture on cardboard. Cut the picture into puzzle pieces. If state map cut along state lines. Now try to put puzzle together. Scissors
    Sponges
    Non-toxic paint

    Make Your Own Stickers
    Making the glue:
    8 tbsp. vinegar
    4 pkgs. unflavored gelatin
    1 tbsp. peppermint extract

Bring vinegar to a boil and add gelatin. Reduce heat to low and stir until gelatin is dissolved. Add peppermint extract. Brush on back of paper desired for stickers. Let dry a few hours, and use. These are "lick and stick" types, so keep in a cool, dry place.

    Ideas for paper or stickers:
    Colored Pictures
    Wrapping paper
    Old Cards
    Printed Pictures

    Magnet Crafts
    You'll Need:
Printable Magnet Sheets OR Magnet Pieces
    Scissors
    Crayons, Markers, or Colored Pencils
Glue (optional - not needed with magent sheets)
    Magnet Board

Find the pictures online to print out your dolls or other characters for the story board. If you are using magnet sheets, you can print out everything directly on the sheet. Magnet pieces will need to be glued on to your pictures, so use card stock to print. For extra fun, print out pictures the kids can color themselves. Stick them on your magnet board and let them make up their own stories and activities for more paper crafts for kids.

    Chore Charts
    1 poster board
    12 Index Cards
    Tape
    Markers
Index cards - 12 X # of children you have

Take first set of index cards and decorate them with your children. Be sure to write the names of each chore on the cards around the decorations. Tape cards to poster board, then decorate the poster board. Make sure your kids are involved in the process so they know exactly what’s expected, and they see the chore chart as something fun. Let the kids write their names on each card (you may have to help the little ones), and decorate them alike. Put 1 set behind each chore. Hang in kitchen and rotate jobs each week.
